MORRIS & LEAH WEST FOUNDATION AT A GLANCE
A Distinct Identity
The Morris and Leah West Foundation is a 501 (C)3 non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of
children. The Morris and Leah West Foundation (MLW) was created on three (3) tenets: health and safety: to
provide CPR, First Aid, and swimming lessons for children; community: to enhance social skills through
civic engagement, cultural awareness, and events; education: to provide literary scholarships and educational opportunities for children.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Each leader has a responsibility and an opportunity to foster an environment/atmosphere where children can thrive. We believe that education is paramount to that success, whether it is through swimming education and/or community, civic and cultural
education. Those are key factors which help create a forum of future leaders.
OUR MISSION
Prevent drowning deaths among children. Polk County, FL alone has approx. 554 natural lakes. We are also on a mission to remove barriers to education of culture through the perpetual engagement in community, civic, cultural and historical events.
OUR GOAL
Provide swimming lessons so every child learns how to swim and to create the next Olympic swimmer. Our goal is to put safety measures in place that would prevent drowning deaths as well as to provide literary scholarships so children can thrive physically and socially.
Morris & Leah West Foundation wants to spread our message of hope and compassion. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy and outreach activities, our team works tirelessly each day to contribute their part to the greater good.
